Tbilisi hosted political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and Georgia
On December 5, 2023,Tbilisi hosted political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Georgia.
The delegation from the Uzbek side was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Bobur Usmanov, from Georgia - by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Khvtisiashvili.
The parties highly appreciated the positive dynamics in the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between two countries, the increase in the number of mutual visits, and the progress in implementing the agreements reached at the government level.
At the meeting, the sides reviewed the current state of bilateral relations, discussed prospects for expanding interaction in political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of mutual interest.
They emphasized the importance of further expanding the legal framework of bilateral cooperation, developing inter-parliamentary dialogue, accelerating the implementation of joint projects in the areas of trade and industrial cooperation, holding the first interregional forum, a meeting of the business council and exhibitions of domestic manufacturers in Georgia and Uzbekistan.
During the negotiations, the parties paid special attention to strengthening ties in the fields of tourism, culture and education.
In connection with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Georgia, celebrated in 2024, they reached an agreement to develop a Plan of joint events to celebrate this significant date.
The sides exchanged views on topical issues of a regional and international nature.
