MFA of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the OIC Special Representative for Afghanistan

On November 24, 2023, the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with the Special Representative of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Afghanistan, Tariq Bakhit.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the current situation in Afghanistan and the development of a consolidated position of the OIC member states.

The parties discussed the need to coordinate efforts in ensuring human rights, especially women and girls rights in Afghanistan, as well as providing humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people ahead of the winter period.
