A solid package of documents for the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Qatar adopted
Following the high-level talks, in the presence of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the Amir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, a ceremony of signing 15 bilateral documents aimed at further developing and deepening trade, economic, investment, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of cooperation was held.
In particular, the following have been adopted:
– Agreement between governments on mutual encouragement and protection of investments;
– Agreement between governments on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion on income and property;
– Agreement between governments on mutual assistance in customs affairs;
– Agreement between governments on cooperation in labor relations;
– Agreement between governments on the exemption from visa requirements for holders of diplomatic passports;
– Memorandum between governments on cooperation in higher education and scientific research;
– Memorandum between governments on cooperation in culture;
– Memorandum on trade cooperation;
– Memorandum of cooperation in agriculture and food security;
– Memorandum of cooperation in plant protection and quarantine;
– Memorandum of cooperation in sports and youth support;
– Memorandum of cooperation between the city of Tashkent and the city of Doha.
Cooperation programs were also signed between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Justice for 2023-2025, and an Agreement on creating a joint platform for financing priority investment projects.
