President of Uzbekistan receives heads of delegations attending a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

On November 1, 2019, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Prime Minister of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Keqiang, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin, Prime Minister -Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Muhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda, Prime Minister of the Resublic of Belarus Sergey Roumas, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who arrived in our country to attend a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received Li Keqiang, Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China, who arrived in Tashkent to attend the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.

Kindly welcoming the guest, Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted his profound satisfaction with the progressive development of Uzbekistan – China friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership.

In turn, Li Keqiang expressed sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the warm hospitality and conveyed greetings and best wishes of the PRC President Xi Jinping.

It was noted that fruitful negotiations between the leaders of the two countries have created a solid foundation for expanding the constructive political dialogue and deepening the multifaceted practical cooperation in all areas.

The need was stressed for the implementation of the agreements reached and the documents signed at the highest level, for the dynamic growth of bilateral trade, for the joint promotion of priority projects in such areas as infrastructure development, energy, industry, agriculture, transport, information and telecommunication technologies and in other areas.

Particular attention was also paid to the consolidation of cultural and humanitarian ties, especially in science, education, innovation and tourism.

The meeting served to discuss issues of enhancing cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. The parties noted in particular the significance of the realization of major projects that are of interest to all member states of the organization, especially those in the economy, investments and transport communications.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Li Keqiang exchanged views on the issues of the international and regional agenda.

Premier of the PRC State Council confirmed the willingness of the Chinese side to fully promote the further development and enhancement of bilateral multifaceted partnership in the interests of the two states and peoples.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the meeting of the SCO Council of the Heads of Government.

The Head of the state, warmly welcoming the guest, noted with deep satisfaction the dynamic development of Uzbekistan – Russia relations based on traditions of centuries-old friendship, confidence, mutual respect and support.

Dmitry Medvedev, expressing his sincere gratitude to the President of Uzbekistan for the cordial welcome and attention paid to the comprehensive promotion of multifaceted relations between the two states, conveyed greetings and the kindest wishes from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

It was noted that intensive contacts and constructive dialogue, primarily at the highest level, has contributed to the uplift of bilateral cooperation to an unprecedented level and filling it with new practical substance.

The progressive advancement of trade, economic, investment and industrial cooperation ties was noted with satisfaction. Promising projects are carried out in the oil and gas, energy, transport, agricultural and other sectors. Interregional and cultural-humanitarian exchanges have been expanding, including in the fields of science, education and tourism.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Dmitry Medvedev exchanged views on pressing issues of the regional and international agenda. Shared desire was expressed to enhance cooperation within the framework of the UN, SCO, CIS and other multilateral institutions.

Issues of preparation for the forthcoming events at the highest level were discussed at the meeting.

Mutual commitment was confirmed to further strengthen the strategic partnership and alliance between Uzbekistan and Russia.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergei Roumas, who arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.

The Head of the state, warmly welcoming the guest, noted that due to the trust-based dialogue established at the highest level in recent years, Uzbekistan – Belarus friendship and multifaceted cooperation have reached a new level.

Sergei Roumas, expressing sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome, conveyed greetings and sincere wishes from the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

Mutual interest was confirmed in building mutually beneficial cooperation and promoting promising cooperation projects in various sectors of the economy, as well as expanding interregional contacts and cultural-humanitarian exchanges.

The importance of full-scale implementation of the reached arrangements and signed agreements following the official high-level visit to Belarus in August this year was emphasized.

The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan Kohir Rasulzoda, who has arrived in Uzbekistan to attend the meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of Government.

The Head of the state, warmly welcoming the guest, noted with great satisfaction the dynamic development of Uzbekistan – Tajikistan friendship and good neighborly relations, which, thanks to the joint efforts of the leaders of the two countries, have reached the strategic partnership level.

Kohir Rasulzoda expressed his deep gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the traditionally warm welcome and conveyed greetings and most sincere wishes from the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The importance of timely and full implementation of the high-level agreements in political, trade-economic, energy, transport, cultural-humanitarian and other priority areas was emphasized at the meeting.

Particular attention was paid to issues of deepening interaction between the border regions.

Current issues of regional cooperation were considered.

The President of Uzbekistan warmly welcomed the guest and noted with satisfaction that the regular dialogue at the highest level allowed bringing bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level and fulfilling it with practical content.

Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and expressed gratitude for the warm welcome.

Current issues of strengthening Uzbekistan – Kyrgyzstan relations in the spirit of friendship, good-neighborliness and strategic partnership were discussed at the meeting.

The importance of further enhancing cooperation in trade-economic, industrial, transport, agro-industrial, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, as well as, cross-border cooperation was noted.

Views were exchanged on the current issues of international and regional agenda.

Rashid Meredov expressed his gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

It was stated that there is immense potential for building up the mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, transport and communications, energy, agricultural and other sectors of the economy.

The importance of enhancing interregional ties and cultural-humanitarian exchanges was noted at the meeting.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Rashid Meredov discussed issues on the regional agenda, including those in the context of forthcoming top-level events in bilateral and multilateral formats.
