In accordance with instructions of the President during his last year’s trip to Muynak district, a government program was adopted on integrated socio-economic development of the district. It envisages the implementation of construction and repair works for 1 trillion 485 billion UZS during 2019-2021.

Over the past period of time, a number of facilities have been commissioned here. An amphitheater with 800 seats and a public services center were built; a culture palace and a stadium as well as a family polyclinic in Bozatau aul were reconstructed.

This July, Muynak Porloq Tex LLC launched a sewing enterprise with creation of 350 jobs.

Outfitted with modern equipment, the enterprise is capable of manufacturing 1 million units of finished sewing and knitting products a year. Currently, duvet covers and sheets, along with specialized clothes are sewn here. It also has a company store. Employees are allocated housing.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev became familiar with the enterprise's activities, and talked with workers.

“The changes taking place in Muynak are very pleasing to me, as are your eyes full of a sense of satisfaction with life. This is the effect of our work undertaken even in the most remote areas. If someone doubts our reforms, let him come to Muynak,” the President suggested.

Some time in its history Muynak was famed for its fishing industry. During last year’s trip to the district, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev recommended to revive and promote the fishing industry based on existing reservoirs.

Muynak Aqua Sanoat state unitary enterprise, itself a result of this initiative, was established with a project cost of 20 billion soums. It will be possible here to process 4 thousand tons of fish a year, produce 200 tons of smoked fish, 780 tons of minced fish, 400 tons of fillets, 9 million pieces of canned fish. Almost 60 jobs will be created.

Currently, the construction of the enterprise’s building has been completed, equipment is being installed. The plant is scheduled to be commissioned in September.

The President was briefed about the works underway to develop fish farming in Karakalpakstan. 17 projects have been developed for the industry, the implementation of which will bring fish harvesting to 15 thousand tons, and its processing level up to 36 percent.

Attention was also paid to gardening of the dried bottom of the Aral Sea. If in the previous 42 years saxaul plantations were created here on an area of 400 thousand hectares, then starting in 2018 almost 500 thousand hectares are covered with protective forest stands. It was noted that in the next two years, another 700 thousand hectares could be covered with green coat.
