A Shared Mission
Uzbekistan has widely marked the International Day of Family on May 15. It was a kind of a review of the ongoing work on support of families in terms of upbringing a harmoniously developed generation. After all, nurturing of children is a mission of each family and also the state.
Summer, the time for the longest holidays, is at its height. However, educational, youth sports schools, music and art schools and Barkamol Avlod centers are full of life. Their doors are open to all girls and boys at the place of residence, providing all the conditions for eventful leisure of children. There is a huge range of useful classes, as never before.

The State Testing Center has recently announced the results of the qualifying tests for lyceum and college students. It remains to determine the educational institutions for those who failed to contest the most popular institutions.
171 secondary special education institutions held entrance tests for students. The rest lyceums and colleges enrolled young people without examinations.
Over the last five years the country has ensured a full coverage of ninth graduates with education in academic lyceums and vocational colleges. A particular emphasis is placed on vocational guidance, so that everyone could obtain the desired profession based on his or her aptitudes. Much attention has been paid to girls in the current year under the national program the Year of Mother and Child Health. Colleges organized meetings for school and college students to help them with choosing the appropriate vocation.
The launch platform
One of the sections of the national program the Year of Mother and Child Health is dedicated to strengthening the role of the system of education in the formation of healthy generation. Overhaul and construction of educational facilities are in progress across the country. Every effort is taken to provide good education for children.
This is especially relevant when it comes to pre-school education institutions, which are attended by a quarter of children. The program for overhaul and equipping nursery schools goes in line with the measures on the increase of their intake.
The creation of short stay groups is underway. It is planned to open 1,200 of them by the end of the year. Such a practice has proven itself good for the families who prefer raising children by their own. The short stay groups are advantageous by the timetable and the cost of services, but most importantly, a child is brought up by qualified specialists, who ensure that the children are ready for school.
The children who do not attend pre-school institutions are also in the view of experts: 200,000 families with children aged 3-6 years will get seven titles of books to prepare for school. The lists have been already compiled.
The ministries and agencies develop the whole range of projects to further improve the quality of education.
The work on the program on preparation and publishing of a new generation of textbooks for secondary schools in 2016-2020 has been in progress. Before the new textbooks are developed, the new standards for teaching school subjects will be introduced in the system.
It is envisaged to apply a fundamentally new methodology of learning, primarily on the exact and natural sciences. The innovations will focus on the effective cultivation of skills of practicing the theory in students.
Textbooks will be brought into compliance with the new program too. It is planned to involve not just the leading national experts, but also experts of the best training centers in Germany, Singapore, the Republic of Korea and Japan, as well as international scientists and experts. They will be based on the experience of preparing modern textbooks in English.
The textbooks of the new generation will fundamentally differ from the present ones. First of all, they will coupled with the methodological guide for teachers. Secondly, they will have a multimedia application (electronic applications, audios, videos). The kits on certain subjects will include the student workbooks
A Step Towards Independent Life
It stands to reason that the program spotlights the measures on ensuring employment for vocational college graduates. On the one hand, it implies the care of children who come into an independent life. On the other hand, this is the concern for creating the conditions for the birth and upbringing of the new generation. If the newlyweds work and maintain an affluent family, they will respectively provide all the conditions for good education of their children.
A mechanism of employment of graduates of secondary specialized educational institutions has been streamlined this year. In order to ensure their practical training and employment, the responsible executives concluded not tripartite, but quadripartite agreements. From now and on, the employment of graduates has become a common concern, including the head of the educational institution, the head of the district administration, and an employer. Specialized offices have been established in all districts. Over 200,000 companies and businesses have been involved in the solution of this task.
The outreach activities on entrepreneurial issues have been held among the graduates. Experts expect that about 20,000 college graduates be take on business this year.
