Political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Uzbekistan and Belgium

On May 27, 2024 in Tashkent, the next round of political consultations took place between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kingdom of Belgium.

During the negotiations, the parties reviewed the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbekistan-Belgian relations. 

The sides discussed the issues of intensifying political dialogue, improving the legal framework, realizing untapped potential in the trade, economic and investment spheres, developing inter-parliamentary contacts, strengthening cultural and humanitarian interaction, as well as expanding ties between leading scientific and educational institutions of the two countries.

Parties underscored that Belgium is one of Uzbekistan’s leading trading partners in the EU. The mutual interest of the parties in building up partnership in the chemical, textile, engineering industries and industrial production was confirmed.

An exchange of views on current issues on the international and regional agenda also took place.
