Baku hosted Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan political consultations
On June 14, 2023, Baku hosted the next round of Uzbekistan-Azerbaijan political consultations between the foreign ministries.
Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Bobur Usmanov and Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov discussed the enhancing bilateral agenda, cooperation within multilateral and regional institutions.
It was underscored that thanks to the personal attention and efforts of the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, bilateral relations have been raised to a completely new level of strategic partnership. A regular political dialogue has been established at the highest and high levels, inter-parliamentary ties are becoming stronger, the legal framework for cooperation is expanding, the volume of mutual trade is steadily growing, and contacts between regions are developing. In addition, the parties participate in the implementation of joint promising projects in the areas of investment, transport, logistics, automotive, energy, agriculture, tourism, and culture.
Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have similar positions and views on regional and global issues.
The parties noted that the positive results of joint activities achieved in recent years should become a reliable basis for further building up fruitful cooperation ties in the interests of our two nations.
The sides agreed to hold regular political consultations, develop new ideas and proposals aimed at further deepening practical cooperation.
