The delegation of Uzbekistan visited India

On May 4-5, 2023, the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov visited the Republic of India to attend the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

At the ministerial meeting, the parties exchanged  views on priority areas of cooperation within the SCO, joint efforts to strengthen peace and stability in the region, regional and international issues.

They considered organizational and substantive aspects of preparation for the upcoming meeting of Council of Heads of SCO member states. The Ministers approved the draft agenda and documents proposed for signing during the upcoming Delhi Summit in July 2023.

During the visit, the head of the Uzbekistan delegation also held talks with the Foreign Ministers of the Republic of India Subramanyam Jaishankar and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, discussing the state and prospects of expanding Uzbekistan's cooperation with these countries in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas and interregional relations.
