Overseas Berlin Roundtable Addresses Promoting More Tourism To Uzbekistan
24.08.2007 The roundtable with participation of heads and representatives of more than 50 tourist firms and companies, who operate in Germany, was held at the Uzbekistan Embassy in Berlin. The main goal of the meeting was to promote more flow of tourists to Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the event the presentation of the Uzbek tourist potential has also been held. The participants got acquainted with the measures now undertaken by the government of the country to better the tourist infrastructure, revive the unique traditions, restore and preserve the ancient architectural monuments. Those gathered have also been informed on the investment climate in Uzbekistan, privileges and preferences offered for the foreign businesses, as well as the investment projects in the sphere of improving the tourist infrastructure. The films “Historical places of worth in Uzbekistan” and “Tashkent is the capital of Islamic culture” have been demonstrated at the event. It helped the German businessmen to expand their views on Uzbekistan. The participants believed it was an interesting idea to organize thematic tours, for instance for such specialists as ethnographers, historians and architects. The value of such trips is that their materials may be used in the regular lectures and meetings with perspective tourists. No less interesting was the idea on organizing a sports marathon along the ancient cities of Uzbekistan on the Great Silk Road. According to the business people in the area of tourism, the German lovers of such sports will worthily assess its attractiveness, which combines the opportunity to compete and get acquaint with the world known cities of Uzbekistan.
