The Uzbek boxers are upholding the hopes of fans and experts at the XXIX Summer Olympic Games which are now continuing in Beijing.

The economic growth has been maintained by the growth of domestic demand, including in the consumer market brought about by the increase of real money incomes of population by 23.4%.

Athletes from Uzbekistan gained their first medal in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

On August 8th, with invitation of the Chairman of Peoples Republic of China Hu Jintao, the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov visited Beijing and participated in the opening ceremony of XXIX Summer Olympic Games.

On August 6 the delegation led by the Attorney General of Malaysia Tan Seri Abdul Gani Pateil met with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Rashid Kadyrov, the agencies reported.

President of Uzbekistan will participate in the opening ceremony of the 29th summer Olympic Games in Beijing on 8 August.
