The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the Special Representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland Pasi Patokallio on 1 August 2012.

The state and development prospects of bilateral relations in political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as the issues of interaction within international organisations, including the UN were discussed during the talks.

The parties examined proposals to conduct next round of consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs, to expedite relations in investment sphere, in which mutually beneficial projects are under consideration at present.

A mutual interest in fostering direct links between the governmental bodies, leading educational institutions of Uzbekistan and Finland was noted.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland Tula Iryola attended the meeting.
