Alice Wells, Senior Director for Russian and Eurasian Affairs of the National Security Council of the United States, was received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 23 July 2012.

Significant issues of bilateral relations were discussed. The constructive nature of the Uzbek-American dialogue, directed at deepening cooperation in different areas of mutual interest, was noted.

The parties exchanged views on the state of affairs in the region, the situation in Afghanistan and  other international issues.
