Meeting with Head of Chancellery of President of Poland

06.06.2012 18:28

On 6 June 2012 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with Jacek  Michałowski, the head of Chancellery of the President of Poland, who is leading a visiting Polish delegation consisting of heads of several ministries and departments, public organizations, MPs and veterans.

The delegation arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the events dedicated to the memory of the soldiers of General V.Anders’ army, buried in the territory of our country.

The parties considered current state and ways of development of bilateral cooperation.

It was noted that during the 20 years after establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Poland,  a positive experience of cooperation in various areas and levels has been gained and a rich legal base has been formed. All these are a good foundation for further strengthening of beneficial cooperation in all areas of mutual interest both in bilateral and multilateral formats, including within the Uzbekistan-European Union dialogue.

Development of trade-economic and investment cooperation is in the interests of both sides. It was stated that trade turnover between the countries in the 1st quarter of this year grew by 16% compared to the same period in 2011 to 30.5 million  US dollars. Investment cooperation with such Polish companies as Bumar Group., Kopex S.A, Biomed Sp. z o.o were mentioned as successful examples.

The parties also exchanged views on other issues of the Uzbek-Polish cooperation agenda.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Uzbekistan Marian Przezdziecki attended the meeting.
