Legislators have
deliberated on draft laws developed in line with the ‘Concept of
intensifying
democratic reforms and forming the civil society in the country’ put
forward by
the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in
November
2010.
In accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of
Uzbekistan “On measures to implement the concept of further deepening of
democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the country in
reforming the field of information and freedom of expression and
information” from 14 January, 2011, Cabinet of Ministers held its
regular meeting of the commission to develop regulations.
The International scientific-practical conference devoted to discussion
of the main provisions of the Concept of further deepening democratic
reforms and formation of civil society, outlined in the report of the
President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov at the joint session of the
parliament’s chambers on 12 November 2010, took place in Tashkent on
22-23 April.
The two-day international scientific practical conference on “The
Concept of further deepening of democratic reforms and formation of
civil society in Uzbekistan” opened in Tashkent on 22 April.
The Legislative Chamber Committee for budget and economic reforms
jointly with the State committee for demonopolization and competition
development held a seminar on the priority directions and legislative
bases of the competitive policies.
The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session
to consider the draft law on amendments and additions to certain
articles of the Constitution. The changes were prepared in accordance with the legislative initiatives
outlined in the speech of President Islam Karimov “The concept of
deepening democratic reforms and formation of civil society in the
country” at the joint session of both chambers of the parliament on 12
November 2010.
The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan held a session
on 30 December to consider the Program of actions for 2011 and the
following years to implement the Concept of deepening democratic reforms
and formation of civil society, proposed by President Islam Karimov.
On the occasion of this
landmark date it is quite natural that there is a need to assess the
following:
how the quality of our life and image of the country have changed and
are
changing now; what achievements we have made for over the past period;
how fast
we are advancing along the path of building an open democratic state
with
socially oriented market economy, and establishing the civil society.
